Authorities in Colorado are investigating after referees began to throw punches in front of kids at a youth basketball game.
The incident that happened over the weekend was recorded and occured during a 4th-grade boys basketball game with Cherry Creek vs. Legend Blue in Lakewood, Colorado.
The video depicts two referees, face-to-face, having some sort of dispute. Then, one of the referees is seen punching the other, making him fall to the ground.
The referee tried to punch and kick the other ref a couple more times but was stopped by bystanders.
The referee that was knocked to the ground did get back up and attempted to fight another official afterwards. However, no more punches were thrown.
Authorities say that apprehensions haven’t taken place because when they arrived to the location, the people involved had left the area.
No one was hurt during the brawl; however, the referees have been suspended indefinitely.
Police are continuing to investigate the matter.
