Update: 2 people deceased on the 1800 block of Mockingbird, Dallas, TX

On February 16, 2024, at about 2:00 PM, officers responded to a shooting call in the 1800 block of W Mockingbird Lane.

When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds.

The preliminary investigation determined that the suspect, 43-year-old Roy Bell, and the victim, 26-year-old Dmarcus Lott, got into an argument in the parking lot of a business.

Further investigation determined that the suspect shot the victim and later shot himself.

The suspect and victim were known to each other.

Lott was pronounced dead at the location, and Bell was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

This remains an ongoing investigation that will be documented under case number 026302-2024.
