Southlake Carroll ISD Cancels School at 2 Campuses After Threat

1.1kviews

An investigation is underway after Southlake Police received an alert last night about a potential threat at Carroll High School through the District’s alert system.

According to officials, a threat was discovered on a bathroom stall door that addressed that STARR test and a potential school shooting on May 1st.

Following the discovery, Carroll Independent School District sent out a letter to parents saying they would be closing Carroll High School and Carroll Senior High School as a precaution.

The letter read,

“Dear Dragon Families:

After an anonymous report of a potential threat was received overnight, Carroll High School and Carroll Senior High School campuses are CLOSED today, May 1, 2024, while the Southlake Police conduct a thorough investigation. This threat was isolated to CHS; however, due to the scheduling of students who take classes at each campus, we are closing both out of an abundance of caution.

All other CISD campuses are open and will continue with their normal operations.

While we have directly contacted parents with students at those campuses, we wanted all of our Dragon families to be aware of the situation. As additional information is updated through the police department, we will inform the community of further details. This report initially came through our STOPit System. If anyone has any information regarding a potential threat to CHS, please contact Southlake PD.

CISD Administration”
