The FAA is investigating a deadly plane crash outside of a Plano restaurant that left a pilot dead.
On Tuesday, around 6 p.m., Plano police responded to a crash regarding a plane on the 6500 block of W. Park Blvd.
According to FAA the plane crashed in a shopping strip, in front of Mama’s Daughter’s Diner. The plane only had one passenger on board which was the pilot and they died during the crash.
None of the other buildings in the shopping strip were damaged but an unoccupied van was said to have caught fire during the crash.
The plane had taken off from the Air Park-Dallas Airport, which is located just a half a mile away from the scene of the crash. It was a single-engine Mooney M20 airplane.
The The FAA and the NTSB are collectively working together to determine what caused this tragic crash.

Pilot error, drunk or suicide. Pilot here. Its almost impossible to die in a small plane. They can glide a long distance unless there was major malfunction which is very rare in well maintained planes (required by FAA). All private planes should be inspected by the pilot before take off.
