North Carolina Mother Charged With Daughters Death After Leaving Her In A Hot Car

An 8 year old North Carolina girl has died after being left in a hot car while her mother was at work.

On June 26, Ashlee Stallings,36 left her daughter inside the car at the Amazon Fulfillment Center while she went to work.

Stallings told authorities that she had left her daughter inside the car with the air on and that she must’ve turned it off after getting cold. She said she had spoken with her daughter via text about an hour and a half prior to finding her unresponsive in the backseat.

She then said she broke the car window and drove towards a hospital before stopping and calling for help. The child was rushed to an area hospital where she passed away.

Stallings was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and child abuse by willful act causing serious injury. She remains in custody on a $1 million bond.
