21-year-old Tanner Cook was recording himself being a prankster when he was shot in the stomach.
The incident happened at a mall in Dulles, Virginia, on Sunday. Cook, a prankster on the YouTube channel Classified Goons, was placed in ICU, following a bullet going through his abdomen and liver.
After having surgery, he is still hospitalized.
“I was playing a prank, a simple practical joke, and this guy didn’t take it very well and shot me,” Cook stated from his hospital bed.
Cook has nearly 40,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel where it is normal for him to perform pranks on strangers in public.
However, on Sunday, as Cook and his friends were capturing a prank on camera at the Dulles Town Center mall’s food court, Alan Colie is said to have pulled out a firearm and shot him.
Now, 31-year-old Colie has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding, shooting in the commission of a felony, and discharging firearms within an occupied building.
He is currently being held without bail and will appear in court again in May.
Although he was wounded, Cook says he plans to continue his pranks.
