YouTuber Being Held By Taliban After Going To “Most Dangerous Places” On Earth

1.4kviews

23-year-old Miles Routledge is a YouTuber who became well-known as a “war tourist” when he barely got out of Afghanistan in the fall of Kabul in 2021. His slogan is traveling and visiting the world’s most “dangerous places.”

Now, Routledge, also known as Lord Miles, is in the possession of the Taliban. Two other U.K. nationals are being held, as well.

In January of this year, Routledge, a volunteer medic, and a hotel manager in Kabul were taken by officers from the Taliban’s General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI).

It isn’t known why they were taken into custody, but it is assumed that it was because Miles went back to Afghanistan after the British Air Force saved him in the fall of Kabul in 2021. This may have set off an alert with the Taliban which is why the detention was made by the GDI.

On March 2, Routledge and 22-year-old Adrian Wojcik and 24-year-old Roman Bilski, of Poland, were arrested after being detained since January. They are being questioned even further by the Taliban.

Reports indicate that although it is thought that the men are safe, there hasn’t been much communication with those that are detained.

Additionally, representatives for Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office stated that they are attempting to have consular communication with the British nationals that are detained and talking with families.
