Young Man Continues To Visit “Grandma” Years After Mistakenly Being Invited To Thanksgiving Dinner
In 2016, Wanda Dench, from Mesa, Arizona, met Jamal Hinton. She inadvertently sent him a text message inviting him to Thanksgiving dinner.
Dench was attempting to reach her grandson but was unaware it was his old phone number.
Her message was actually sent to Hinton who was at his high school.
They then exchanged selfies. Afterwards, Hinton requested that he still be extended in the invitation even after they both realized the error.
“Of course you can. That’s what grandmas do, feed everyone,” Dench replied.
Now, Hinton has made it known, on Twitter, that the two continue to share the day together.
“We’re all set for year 6!” he wrote. He included a photo of the actual message that Dench had sent that day. She had offerered the invitation to his girlfriend, Mikaela, and his other relatives, too.
Each year Hinton has posted about the holiday on social media.
Two years ago, he documented the day and wrote, “Blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives.”
