On Friday, September 13, 2019, at approximately 3:29 a.m., Dallas police responded to a structure fire call at 3228 Elsie Faye Heggins Street.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Once the fire was put out, a body was found inside the residence.
Homicide Unit detectives learned that an unknown suspect threw an object with accelerant against the house and it ignited, causing the fire to spread into the residence.

This investigation is ongoing.
