40 year-old Katherine Janness’s deceased body was located by her dog’s dead body in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park in July.

The murdered woman and dog, Bowie, were found by Janness’ girlfriend, Emma Clark. Clark used a tracking device to find them after they didn’t come home after a walk.

On Friday, results from an autopsy showed that Janness had been stabbed at least 50 times. 15 of those cuts were to her head. Also noted were the letters “FAT” carved into the skin on her chest.

The woman was 5’5 and 155 lbs. with a BMI of 25. This was categorized as “normal” weight, according to the medical examiner’s office.

No one has been apprehended for the crime. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has shot down suggestions that either a serial killer is involved or that this was a hate crime.

Clark stated that Janness was the “love of her life,” and Bowie was the “most sweetest loyal companion.”

Money raised after the murders totaled almost $80,000.
