Woman Underwent Surgery To Have Bullet Taken Out Of Clitoris

While resting at her residence, a woman in Somalia was unintentionally shot in the clitoris. Following that, she underwent an emergency operation.

“To the best of our knowledge, this is the first wayward bullet injury penetrating the vulvar area, [the outer part of the female genitals] with a retained bullet in the clitoris,” a surgery journal reported.

A study found that the 24-year-old unidentified woman had been at her residence relaxing. Then, out of nowhere, a bullet went through her ceiling and hit her in the genital area.

After a CT scan was done, it was noted that the errant lead pellet had stuck inside of her clitoris. This is believed to be the first time an incident of this nature has occurred, the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports wrote.

Fortunately for the woman, doctors were able to remove the projectile safely during an operation. She was released from the hospital the next day.
