A couple had a disagreement after exiting a bar and grill before 3am Monday near Houston.
As they were traveling on I-45, the boyfriend halted on the service road. The woman then left out of the vehicle and ran in the direction of the highway. Apparently, she was attempting to wave down highway traffic.
After crossing many lanes on the expressway, in the dark, a man in a Chevrolet Malibu didn’t notice her. She was then struck. A few moments later, she was hit by a minivan. The driver of the minivan stated that they didn’t observe the woman lying on the ground.
The boyfriend had said that the woman had her arms raised up. However, witnesses say that she seemed to have knelt down to retrieve something.
The woman died at the scene. Neither of the drivers that struck her were found to be under the influence.
The incident continues to be investigated.
