A woman was shot in Little Rock on New Year’s Eve by her cheating boyfriends side piece.
The incident happened at a Super Stop on the 5100 block of Asher Avenue.
According to reports Kelecia Mayo,22 caught her boyfriend cheating and as she confronted him an altercation between the two broke out.
Taz Hayes,29, intervened in the altercation by pulling out a gun and shooting Mayo. Little Rock Police Chief Keith Humphrey, who was on patrol on the night of New Year’s Eve, reportedly encountered the fight, got out of his vehicle and shot back at Hayes.
During that time Hayes, who was not injured fled the scene but was later arrested by Arkansas police.
She was taken to Pulaski County jail on one count of first degree battery. Mayo was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Humphrey was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
