Nicole Poole Franklin, 43, ran her vehicle over two children, attempting to kill them because of their ethnic background.
On Friday, she was given 25 years in prison for the federal hate crime.
In December 2019, the woman, from Iowa, struck the children as they walked to school. Because she believed that the 12 year-old black boy was of Middle Eastern descent and an Islamic terrorist, she ran over his legs.
A little while later, a 14 year-old was run over. Franklin stated that she hit her because she was Mexican. The girl was treated at a medical facility for two days.
After the incidents, Franklin was apprehended at a gas station. Authorities say after trying to steal merchandise, she threw things at the clerk and customers while screaming racial slurs.
Franklin had already received 25 years in prison on state attempted murder charges.
The new federal charges will be served concurrently with the state punishment.
