22-year-old Alyssa Zinger was apprehended on November 24 and is facing charges of Felony Lewd or Lascivious Battery and Felony Lewd or Lascivious Molestation Defendant Over 18 Victim 12-15. This comes after she is said to have posed as a home-schooled student online in order to engage in an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
Authorities in Tampa, Florida, state that Zinger contacted the male victim who was about 12 and 15 years old by acting like she was a home-schooled student online. The two had met over Snapchat at the end of May 2023. Until mid-September, the victim had believed that she was about 14 years old.
In October, authorities had learned about the inappropriate relationship.
Detectives say that Zinger was involved in at least 30 sexual acts with at least one or even more students at Woodrow Wilson Middle School which is located in the Hyde Park community of Tampa.
Although it didn’t happen at the school, the student did alert an adult on campus to what was going on. Law enforcement was then contacted, and the investigation began.
Zinger has now entered a not guilty plea and is expected to be arraigned soon.
Authorities believe that there are more victims and have encouraged them to reach out to police.
