A woman from Wichita, Tx was arrested after she allegedly killed her mother by sitting on her and praying on her.
Gloria Ann Jordan, 41, admitted to sitting on her mother, Gloria Farmer Jordan, killing her.
Investigators say Farmer was sitting in an office chair when Jordan shoved her to the ground. Jordan then got on top of Farmer in a “praying position” and was praying while she continued to restrict Farmer’s breathing.
Farmer repeatedly said she couldn’t breathe and told Jordan to get off many times before she took her last breath. Jordan refused to budge and remained sitting on top of her until she was unconscious.
When Police responded to the home, they initially believed the death was due to medical complications. However, a follow-up investigation led to an autopsy after a family friend raised concerns.
Police say the autopsy confirmed that Gloria died of “mechanical asphyxia” in what was ruled a homicide.
Gloria Ann Jordan admitted to what she had done during the investigation. She was then arrested and charged with manslaughter.
She remains in custody with a $150,000 bond.
