Woman Killed Her Mother By Beating Her With A Frying Pan, Stabbing Her Multiple Times
23-year-old Sydney Powell, of Akron, Ohio, killed her mother by attacking her with a frying pan and stabbing her several times. This came after her mother had learned that she had been kicked out of college.
Powell was found guilty of murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. This was for the vicious killing of 50-year-old Brenda Powell.
Sydney Powell was said to have beat her mother in the head with an iron skillet and stabbed her 30 times in the neck.
On Wednesday, Powell cried in court after a jury found her guilty.
On March 3, 2020, authorities located Brenda inside of her residence with severe wounds.
She and her daughter were transported to a medical facility where Brenda died.
Prosecutors say that Sydney Powell stabbed her mother as she was talking to officials from her school on the phone.
As the trial ensued, Sydney’s lawyers stated that she had suffered from schizophrenia. Thus, shouldn’t be liable for the murder.
One of the defense experts that made the diagnosis said that Sydney had a psychotic episode when she killed her mother who was also her best friend.
However, a psychologist brought on by the prosecutors stated that Sydney didn’t meet the standard for insanity in the legal definition at the time of the offense. She did concur that Sydney does have mental issues, such an anxiety disorder and more.
Prosecutors ultimately said that Sydney killed her mother simply because she didn’t want her secret to get out.
This week, Sydney will receive her sentence.

I agree, you took the words right out my mouth. That young lady was best friends with her mother. She had to be in a mental psychosis at the time. She’s going to be a lot worse in prison if they don’t get her some mental help. And help to deal with her actions. She’s going to end up committing suicide. The whole situation is sad and tragic.
