A woman was charged with murder after she shot and killed her common law husband during a domestic dispute in Desoto late Sunday.
Officers responded to a shooting call on the 700 block of Pegg Street when a neighbor called after hearing gunshots and four children coming to her home asking for help.
When officers arrived to the scene they found Paul Orneliues Wright,29 suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and immediately rendered aid before transporting him to the hospital where he later died.
Officers arrested Tamara Lafrance,40 in front of the neighbors home and recovered a weapon from inside the couples home.
She was taken in to custody and charged with murder.
It is unclear what led up to the shooting and detectives are investigating.
