Jamara Hennings, 29, was stopped by police on I-35 in Oklahoma County, OK, for driving recklessly. She was then busted for transporting millions of dollars of illegal drugs through the state.

“Drug traffickers often come through Oklahoma City. Just because of the corridor that’s here between I-35 and I-40,” stated Oklahoma County Sheriff, Tommie Johnson III.

On February 22, when she was pulled over, Hennings told authorities that her friends allowed her to use their van to get home since she couldn’t afford a plane ticket. Since her story wasn’t making sense, a deputy asked to search the vehicle.

When a drug K-9 arrived to the scene, it hinted at the rear of the van. That’s when $75,000 worth of fentanyl pills, 23.5 pounds of crystal meth, and 2.5 pounds of pre-cut cocaine were discovered.

It all totaled $3.3 million.

“We are seeing a dramatic increase in drug arrests. Finding drugs and not just finding these illicit drugs, but these fentanyl pills which are so dangerous,” Johnson added.

Between October 2020 and October 2021, more than 105,000 Americans died from a drug overdose, reported the CDC. These mostly occurred from synthetic opioids like fentanyl.

Hennings was placed with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as she awaits federal charges.
