On March 21, Kyleen Waltman, 38, was said to have been mauled by three dogs as she walked to her home.
The mother of three was left fighting for her life.
When a man found the woman in a ditch, the dogs were still attacking her, stated Waltman’s sister, Shenna Green. She was then airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening wounds.
Justin Minor has been named as the owner of the dogs. Two of them were pit bulls. He has been charged with three counts of owning a dangerous animal that attacked and injured a human, a rabies control violation, and a charge of dangerous animals not permitted beyond premises unless restrained.
Waltman had to have both of her arms removed up to her shoulder, and it is possible that she may have to have her leg amputated, as well. A portion of her colon was taken out, and Waltman might have to get her esophagus removed, too.
“She does have a spinal injury…they are keeping her sedated, so she doesn’t aggravate it by trying to move. That’s why they haven’t woke her up yet,” relatives stated on a GoFundMe page. “…she still doesn’t know what happened.”
The dogs have now been placed with animal control. Minor was arrested, and his bail was set at $15,000. He will be back in court in May.
