19-year-old Derica Wiggins has been charged with aggravated assault and arson after authorities say that she purposely set her former boyfriend’s bed on fire. She did so as he, his new girlfriend, and her baby were asleep.

The incident occurred in March in Memphis, Tennessee, but Wiggins was just placed in custody on Friday.

Detectives say that no one was wounded in the fire that was put out prior to firefighters arriving to the location.

The woman victim had reported that she could hear what seemed to be a lighter outside of her bedroom door. She then saw someone peeking through a crack in the door but figured it was her boyfriend’s brother. When she awakened again, her comforter was on fire.

The boyfriend stated that he was able to extinguish the fire and had approached Wiggins in the driveway. Authorities say that a Ring camera also captured Wiggins entering and leaving out of the residence.

Detectives say that the blaze led to extensive damage to the comforter and and smoke damage to the bedroom.

Wiggins is also facing charges of reckless burning and setting fire to personal property.

She is expected to appear in court on Monday.
