Woman Arrested After Reporting A Fake Robbery At Phone Store Due To High Phone Bill

A robbery occurring at a phone store was reported on June 19, 2022.

Deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office arrived to the 7800 block of FM 1960 Bypass Road W, in Harris County, Texas. They then found out that there wasn’t a robbery.

After looking into the matter further, it was found that Ily Montoya-Rivas called police about a robbery. She did so in order for police to assist her with a high phone bill that she didn’t want to pay.

“Ily Montoya-Rivas was arrested and booked into the Harris County jail, charged with False Report to a Public Servant. Her bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 7,” reported the constable’s office.
