73-Year-Old Michele Linzalone, from New Jersey, told police that she shot her husband in the head unintentionally.
Now, the wife has been charged with murder.
On Monday, although first responders attempted to save his life when they arrived, Rocky V. Linzalone, 74, died inside of the Midtown home.
Investigators discovered that 22 minutes before the wife called 9-1-1, she searched the internet to find out if a person would “die instantly” if shot in the head.
On November 18, she also looked up information on ammunition, court documents note.
Michele told police that her husband was accidentally shot while she was playing with a gun as he slept. She had been Rocky’s primary caregiver after he had two strokes that caused him to become disabled.
The wife said she waited 30 minutes to call authorities because she was in shock and wanted to put on her clothes and brush her teeth first.
Rocky’s family believes that taking care of the man had started to take its toll on his wife.
If found guilty of murder, Michele could receive life in prison.
