The well-known, fitness guru, Richard Simmons, has passed away.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s elite Robbery Homicide Division answered to a call at his home because this is a high-profile death. Despite that, foul play is not suspected.

A housekeeper called authorities just prior to 10 a.m., on Saturday, and when first responders arrived to the residence, Simmons was declared deceased.

It was noted that Simmons took a fall on Friday night, and that may be linked to his death.

Ultimately, police are investigating the matter as a natural death.

Simmons began his career as a waiter in Beverly Hills and began to open up several gyms for clients who were “out of shape.”

The Anatomy Asylum, which was renamed Slimmons and included a salad bar, was one of his facilities that focused on exercise and healthy eating. It closed in 2016.

In addition to that, he released numerous tapes and DVDs, including “Sweatin’ to the Oldies,” “Party off the Pounds,” “Blast Off,” “Pump and Sweat,” “Tonin’ Uptown,” “Tonin’ Downtown,” and many others.

Simmons appeared in many shows, as well. This includes 72 episodes of “General Hospital,” and other credits like, “All My Children,” “Evening Shade,” “The Larry Sanders Show,” and others. He wrote a series of healthy eating cookbooks, too.

Simmons was loved by many people due to his positive energy. However, later in his life, he moved away from the public eye because of the pressures to keep up his persona and because of a double-knee replacement operation.

Richard Simmons was 76.
