On Wednesday August 24, Waxahachie police seized over 40 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.
Officer Farmer was conducting a routine traffic stop on IH-35E at the 397 mile marker. While conducting the traffic stop the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The officer then conducted a probable cause search on the vehicle with the assistance of K-9 Mattis.
During the search the officer recovered 41.5 pounds of marijuana.
The driver was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over 5lbs and under 50lbs.
