Waxahachie 12-Year-Old Dead After ATV Crash

A Waxahachie 12-year-old boy has died after the ATV he was riding crashed into a pickup truck over the weekend.

On Sunday at around 7:08 p.m., emergency personnel responded to reports of a crash involving an ATV and a pickup truck at Boz Road and Greathouse Road in Ellis County.

According to DPS Troopers, a Polaris ATV, which was occupied with 4 young teenagers ages 12 to 16, ran a stop sign and wrecked into a pickup truck at the intersection.

The driver of the ATV, a 16-year-old girl, was transported from the scene for treatment of her injuries. Two of the passengers, a 14-year-old boy and girl, were transported to the hospital where they remain in critical condition.

The 12-year-old boy was also transported to the hospital from the scene, however, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were also transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
