Four Walmarts in the US will be laying off 2,000 warehouse employees that work to complete website orders.

Walmart has noted that over 1,000 workers in Texas, 600 workers in Pennsylvania, 400 workers in Florida, and 200 workers in New Jersey will be laid off. These workers mainly work evening and weekend shifts that will no longer exists.

Walmart has predicted that slower sales and slower profit increases are coming. They also decided, recently, to increase its average minimum wage from $12 to $14 as they attempt to retain store employees.

Other the other hand, this will affect profit increases, as most of its lower-income customers are already being impacted by inflation.

Fortunately, Walmart hasn’t had huge layoffs like other companies, such as Amazon. Amazon has gotten rid of about 30,000 jobs in multiple areas since earlier this year.
