Waitress Fired After Receiving $4,400 Tip

On Thursday, waitress Ryan Brandt said that she was terminated from her place of employment in Arkansas. This came after guests left behind a $4,400 tip for her and another server.

Brandt stated that she had worked at Oven & Tap for three and a half years.

After waiting on a party of 40, each individual in the group gave a $100 tip which totaled $4,400. The restaurant then requested that she “pool” her tip with other servers, something that hadn’t occurred before.

“I would be taking home 20%,” Brandt said.

40 year-old Grant Wise, who was one of the people in the large group, said that the money that was left was only for the servers that waited on his table, not others. He asked for a refund of the money and handed it to Brandt outside of the establishment.

After receiving the money, Brandt stated that she was fired for giving Wise details about splitting some of the tip money with colleagues. The restaurant said that it violated their policy.

Oven & Tap declined to publicly discuss Brandt’s firing.
