Chicago police are searching for a man they say tried to kidnap a 5 year old girl while she was with her mother.
The incident happened last week when the child was walking with her mother on the 5100 block of West Fullerton Avenue.
Apparently, the unidentified male suspect began following the two and then sparked up a conversation with the mother and asked if he could purchase her.
When the mother refused the kidnapper tried to grab the child by her hair. The mother and child were able to escape to safety and contact police.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, around 25, with bright red hair and a thin beard. He is about 5-foot-6 and weighs about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black t-shirt and red shorts.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact police at (312)746-6554 or 911.
