Morgyn Arnold, 14, was the manager for the Shoreline Junior High School cheer team. She would go to games, cheer, and involve herself in other activities.
She posed for one picture with the squad and was placed in the middle. She received her yearbook on the last day of eighth grade. However, she saw a different picture that didn’t have her in it.
The Davis School District issued an apology.
Arnold’s father said he’d had great discussions with school administrators. He hopes they can take steps to ensure this doesn’t occur again. He said he didn’t want to blame anyone, and the other girls on the squad have supported Morgyn. The families have dealt with “very malicious hate and disgusting comments” on social media. He’s pleading for people to stop.
The father stated Morgyn would return to the school next year for ninth grade, but unsure about cheerleading.
