Stephen Clark,22 who was shot March 18 by Sacramento police autopsy report was released Friday afternoon.
Initially police reports said Clark was walking toward authorities with what appeared to be a gun, which made them fatally shoot the young man in his backyard.
Clark’s family hired their own pathologist to do an autopsy on their grandson and when the reports were released it showed that he had been shot 7 times in the back and once in the thigh. Pathologist determined that it took Clark ten minutes to die after being shot. Officers say they waited at least five minutes before they approached him becaus they didn’t know if he was alive and armed.
Body cam video was also released and showed Clark in his backyard right before he was fatally shot by police. Police say it is not clear whether Clark knew officers were back there and when he moved officers fired at least 20 rounds shooting him 8 times.
Clark died on the scene and this case is still under investigation.
