University Pulls Scholarship From Top QB in the Nation After Video Surfaces of Him Rapping and Saying “N-Word”
The University of Florida revoked a scholarship given to one of the nation’s top quarterback recruits after footage of him saying the “n-word” surfaced.
Marcus Stokes, dubbed the 14th-best quarterback in the nation, was offered scholarships to many universities including; Florida, Penn State, Florida Atlantic, and Georgia. Stokes finally decided on the University of Florida in July after switching from his initial pick, Pennsylvania State.
Shortly after, however, Florida pulled his scholarship because of a video Stokes posted on his Instagram. In the video, he is rapping along with a rap song as he drives in his car. In the lyrics, which were sung aloud, the “n-word” is repeated multiple times.
Following the news, Stokes offered an apology and said that he fully accepts the school’s decision to withdraw their scholarship.
