A mother and daughter are dead following a shooting in South Dallas Tuesday night.
On April 23, around 8 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call on the 300 block of South Boulevard. Upon arriving they found 17 year old Drenesia Willis and 41 year old LaNeshaia Pinkard suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both women were transported to an area hospital where they later died.
Authorities arrested 65 year old Doris Walker and she was charged with capital murder. She remains in Dallas County jail on a $500,000 bond.
According to reports Willis was involved in a physical altercation in an apartment complex with another woman. The woman involved in the fight was then taken inside Walker’s apartment. It was stated that Willis then called her mother and they forced their way inside Walker’s apartment.
At that time they begin to assault the other woman while threatening to also assault Walker. Walker then grabbed a handgun and shot Pinkard and Willis.
Walker told authorities that her and Pinkard had been having ongoing issues.
This is a sad situation ! But in the same sentence it’s a law in TEXAS called STAND Your Ground. You can not force your way into someone house and attempt to attack them!!! Dorris did what anyone else would have done. She didn’t go looking for trouble and she didn’t RUN from it neither!!! It’s sad but it is what it is !!! Rest in heaven!!!
