A New York and Florida woman have been arrested and accused of scamming millions of dollars from over a dozen elderly men.
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office Rosanna Lisa Stanley,48, of N. Miami Beach Florida and Gina Guy, 38, of New York New York sought out elderly men and then gained their trust before collecting millions of dollars to fund their extravagant lifestyles.
The allegations in the complaint against Stanley and Guy alleged that between 2009 and 2024 they defrauded and scammed at least 16 elderly men for over $7 million. They would make the men believe they were involved in romantic or personal relationships and convince them to wire large amounts of money into their bank accounts.
The two women also lied and told the men they needed the money for their businesses and Guy even went so far as to say she needed a kidney transplant.
Once Stanley and Guy received the money they would move it to shell accounts so it couldn’t be traced. The women would then use the money for their personal benefit including buying expensive cars and jewelry.
Both Stanley and Guy are charged with one count of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, one count of money laundering, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, each of which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
