Police in Pennsylvania are looking for two suspects following an alleged abduction of a 14-year-old that happened at Willow Grove Mall in Montgomery County, on Wednesday night.
At about 7 p.m., the Abington Township Police Department learned of an attempted child kidnapping. A 14-year-old girl told authorities that she had been on an escalator at a mall when a male at the bottom approached her.
The man said that his name was “Alex” and requested to walk with her. When she told him she was a minor and tried to separate herself from him, he took her by the arm and made her go through the mall with him, detectives say.
At some point, the girl was able to get free of him and ran away yelling. Several people saw what was happening and tried to keep the man away from the girl as he tried to grab her again. The suspect and another male then exited the mall.
No one has been placed in custody at this time. However, police believe that the man had been working with the other man that was seen.
Thus, police are now searching for two suspects. The man who said his name was “Alex” has been described as a Black man, aged 25 to 30 with a goatee and short braids. He had on a white shirt, pants containing a dark stripe, and dark-colored shoes.
The other suspect is said to be a Black male with thick facial hair. He had on a dark blue t-shirt, jean shorts, and white-and-black sneakers.
