On May 14, 2023, at about 8:49 p.m., Midlothian, Texas, patrol officers answered to a report of an armed robbery at Texas Best Smokehouse & BBQ at 2220 Plainview Road. Workers at the location disclosed to police that two males with firearms came into the store and demanded money. The suspects were wearing hoodies and masks to hide their identities. After stealing the money, both suspects fled on foot in the direction of Walnut Grove Road. Officers looked around the area but could not locate the suspects back then.
However, on November 20, 2023, officers finally obtained arrest warrants for 37-year-old Matthew Harvey, of Carrolton, and 21-year-old Timothy Poole II, of Dallas, for their parts in the offense.
Both men are now in the Denton County Jail for several crimes committed in other areas. They have been charged with a First Degree Felony for the Midlothian crime. Their bond was set at $100,000 each.
