Two employees at a daycare in Newberry, SC, have been apprehended after allowing children to attack and strike other children at the daycare.

27-year-old Ericka Jones and 56-year-old Serena Caldwell surrendered to authorities on Thursday and were terminated from their jobs.

They have been accused of neglect and child abuse that occurred at Kids Unlimited of Prosperity where they were employed.

As they were investigating, detectives learned that Jones and Caldwell told fourteen children, ages 3 and 4 years old, to push, strike, and pull other children.

Documents note that it began by the suspects telling the children to use violence as a consequence against other children or to get another child to become compliant.

Although there weren’t any physical injuries, it isn’t known how much psychological or emotional harm has been done to the children.

Jones and Caldwell face several charges, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor and unlawful conduct towards a child.

Caldwell’s bond was set at $60,000 and Jones’s was set at $56,000.
