Two Arrested After Man Grabs Onto Hood Of Car At 80 MPH

Authorities say that they witnessed a car going 80 mph with a man riding on the hood of it.

The occurrence happened on Sunday morning in Knoxville, Tennessee, when police were summoned to a bar about a domestic disturbance. They then discovered Dylan Bennett, 29, grabbing onto a Chevy Impala’s hood.

Bennett alleged that the car’s driver, Chamcelyn Whipple, was intoxicated, and he was attempting to stop her from leaving.

Whipple stated to authorities that Bennett, who was separated from her, had assaulted her and thrown her phone on the street. She said he wanted to prevent her from contacting authorities. Whipple also stated that she was “able to get in the car and drive away, knowing Bennett was on the hood.”

After analyzing the scene further, officers determined that Whipple drove more than nine miles with Bennett on the hood.

Now, Bennett faces charges of aggravated assault. Additionally, Whipple was charged with reckless endangerment.
