In a video that has gone viral, a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer is seen saving a baby that was choking.

On December 21, a young mother at Newark Liberty International Airport, in New Jersey, saw that her 2-month-old baby had stopped breathing.

When TSA Officer Cecilia Morales heard the mother screaming, she is observed leaping over a security conveyor belt to help.

“The mother was so nervous, and I knew if I didn’t get over there, it wasn’t going to be a good outcome. I jumped over the checkpoint conveyor belt rollers, and she gave me the baby. I performed the infant Heimlich maneuver on him,’ Morales said in a statement.

Morales worked on the baby until he started breathing again. Then, emergency crews arrived, and the baby was given oxygen.

Morales was previously employed as an EMT for 10 years but had never done the Heimlich maneuver on an infant. Additionally, she had just become a TSA agent two months ago.

“Two months on the job, and she’s literally a lifesaver. Officer Morales’s quick reaction and actions helped ensure that this family will have a happy holiday season..,” said TSA’s Federal Security director.
