A truck driver was sentenced to 110 years in prison after causing a major accident that killed 4 people.

Rogel Aguilera-Mederos, a 26-year-old Cuban immigrant, swerved his semi hitting other cars off the road. He then slammed his truck into more than two dozen cars and four other semi-trailers. The crash caused a massive fireball which melted and destroyed cars, killed 4, and injured 6.

Aguilera-Mederos was convicted on 42 counts, including vehicular death and first-degree assault, careless driving, reckless driving, and vehicular assault on several counts.

Aguilera-Mederos sobbed asked for forgiveness from the grieving relatives of the men he killed before being sentenced. He explained it was not intentional and that he is not a bad person.

His pleading didn’t do much for the jury. The judge sentenced him to 110 years in prison, to be served consecutively.

Doyle Harrison,61, William Bailey,67, Miguel Angel Lamas Arrellano,24, and Stanley Politano,69 all died during the fatal crash.
