After violating the NBA’s anti-drug program, Tristan Thompson will be sidelined from games.
The league has stated that Thompson, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, tested positive for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033, two substances that have been banned by the NBA. Now, Thompson will miss the next 25 games.
Both drugs are said to be performance enhancers that assist in strengthening and recovery time.
The league announced that Thompson’s suspension will start on Wednesday as the Cavaliers take on the Milwaukee Bucks.
Thompson joined the re-joined the Cavs in September and seemed excited about the season as he changed his jersey number from 12 to 13. That is number that he wore in 2011 when he first started playing with Cleveland.
In the 36 games that have been played so far, Thompson has had about 3.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assist each game.
Are there any statements from the NBA or Tristan Thompson addressing the circumstances surrounding the violation of the Anti-Drug Program?
