A court date has been set for former Fort Worth police officer Aaron Dean in the 2019 shooting death of Atianna Jefferson.

Dean’s trial is set to begin on November 16 inside a Tarrant County courtroom.
Police were called out to Jefferson’s home on October 12,2019 to perform a welfare check after a neighbor saw her door open.
Dean arrived first and went through Jefferson’s backyard.
At that time she was sitting in the living room playing video games with her nephew and heard a noise.
She went to grab a handgun before going to her window.
Dean then saw Jefferson’s shadow and demanded her to put her hands up before firing into her window striking her.
Emergency crews tried to revive Jefferson but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
During internal affairs investigation Dean resigned before being terminated.
