Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents were shocked to discover a raw chicken in a passenger’s belongings at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport. They then found a gun inside of the plastic-wrapped chicken.

Officers found the weapon in what seemed to be thin paper packaging.

They posted pictures of the chicken and gun on Instagram and even joked that the scheme ‘wasn’t even half-baked.’

‘The plot chickens as we barrel our way closer to Thanksgiving,’ security stated about the discovery, joking in every way possible.

‘For us, it is a time to be thankful that our offices are always working around the clock to keep you safe. Feather you like it or not, there are rules for traveling with guns and ammunition,” they continued.

Officials didn’t disclose anymore details on the incident or if anyone was apprehended in the matter.

TSA says that individuals are allowed to travel with firearms in checked suitcases. However, they must be safely secured and declared at check-in with the airline. They firearm can’t be loaded, has to be in a hard-sided case, and the ammunition can’t be inside of the weapon.

Thus, it can’t be stored in raw chicken.

128 firearms were found by agents, last year, at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Passengers who transport weapons to a checkpoint could incur a federal penalty of up to $13,900 in fines.
