A man tragically died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head while attempting to repair a malfunctioning firearm at a shooting range in Fort Worth on Monday night.
Authorities were alerted to the incident just before 9 p.m. at Shoot Smart. As reported by the Fort Worth police, the man was on the firing line when he faced an issue with his weapon. While trying to clear live ammunition, the gun went off and hit him in the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Fort Worth police are currently looking into the matter, and the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine the official cause of death.
The name of the deceased has not yet been disclosed.
