Town East Mall Shooting Suspect In Custody

A Dallas man was taken into custody after a shooting at Town East Mall on Aug 19.
Rafael Alvarez, 25, was booked into the Dallas County Jail on Monday.
Alvarez is facing charges of aggravated robbery.
The shooting happened shortly after 5pm on Aug 19, according to police.
Alvarez allegedly stole items from a store and fired a gun at an employee who was chasing him.
Alvarez then fled in a vehicle that was waiting for him outside the mall.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
According to court documents. Alvarez is facing another unrelated robbery charge from an incident on Aug 16.
Details of that case have not be released.
