Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison without the possibility of parole for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

Daystar Peterson, otherwise known by Tory Lanez, was sentenced on Tuesday after being found guilty of felony assault in 2022.

The shooting incident happened while the two artists were leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s house on July 2020.

Megan Thee Stallion, who was shot in the foot, says her life will never be the same and she now struggles to find peace.

Jose Baez, Lanez’s attorney, was fighting for probation and a drug treatment program, arguing that Lanez needed the opportunity to get the help he needed. Several reports claim that Lanez has struggled with alcoholism while trying to deal with childhood trauma.

At his sentencing hearing on Tuesday, Lanez made a statement in court. “I said some very immature things that I shouldn’t have said. I revealed some secrets I shouldn’t have revealed.”
