A three year old child is recovering after being bitten on Saturday inside The Loose Caboose restaurant by a dog wearing a service vest.
Ronin’s Mother, Cleveratta Gordon-Waldroup told authorities that her family and best friend arrived at The Loose Caboose with a family friend. Ronin,3 was the line leader of her family to order when she was confronted by a dog, described as a pit bull by the family.
Cleveratta and her husband had been at the door folding the stroller, but their family friend Kimberly Parker had been behind Ronin when she was viciously attacked.
Kimberly stated that “It had a hold of her face and shook her. The lady pulled on the leash, the dog released her and she just dropped like a rag doll.”
Ronin had been handed to her mother by Kimberly and was rushed immediately to the restroom to try and attend to her injuries.
Clevaratta stated that as her child was screaming in pain she chanted to herself in her head that “I just needed to stop the bleeding. I just needed to stop the bleeding.”
The father, Mr.Waldroup found his wife and daughter in the restroom and asked what had happened.
Kimberly then told him “She was bitten by a dog.” Her father retorted and asked, “What dog?”
He saw a man and woman with a dog leaving the restaurant and began chasing behind them.
Once the man caught up to the woman and told her about the injuries the woman began yelling at him and stated that “It’s your daughter’s fault.”
People recorded the confrontation as the woman and dog got into a car with a man and drove away.
Luckily, Mr.Waldroup was able to snag a photo of her and the license plate of the car she got into.
Ronin was rushed to the hospital, where she had to receive stitches. Doctors stated that they believe she would not have bad scaring but suggest that she follow up with a plastic surgeon.
It was stated by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office that they do know the dog’s Owner and have scheduled a meeting with her.
District Attorney’s Office will be having information passed to them, determining if charges are warranted. And of course, The Waldroup family does want to hold the owner accountable.
Clevaratta stated that “For them to not show any compassion or any remorse to even stop and ask if my baby was OK, it goes beyond words. She cares more about this dog. This dog now has to be checked out and everything, because my child runs the chance of getting rabies so that is still on the table until we get confirmation of its medical history.”
