Three ex-police officers are said to have killed an 8-year-old girl when they fired shots into a crowd after a football game. They have now pleaded guilty in relation to her death that occurred in Pennsylvania.

In August 2021, Fanta Bility was leaving the game with her mother and 12-year-old sister when shots were fired between the officers and a group of teens.

The officers were identified as Brian Devaney, 42, Sean Dolan, 26, and Devon Smith, 35.

Fanta was hit by a bullet in her chest and succumbed to her injuries after being taken to a hospital. Two other kids, including her sister, were injured in the incident, as well.

The ex-Sharon Hill officers all pleaded guilty to 10 counts of reckless endangerment each for their part in Fanta’s death.

They had first been charged with an extra charge of manslaughter and involuntary manslaughter. However, those charges were dropped as a component of the plea deal.

The girl’s relatives agreed to the plea deal as it meant that the three officers admitted that they were responsible for Fanta’s death.

It was reported that one of the officers fired the fatal shot as someone was shooting at him. All three officers discharged their weapons which end up wounding five people in total.

The officers’ sentencing hearing is set for January 12.
