Texas State Troopers Seize 1080 HP Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat And Add To Their Collection
A 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye has been added to the DPS fleet of Texas Highway Patrol vehicles.
On April 25, 2021, a driver engaging in dangerous street racing fled from law enforcement at 160 mph.
The vehicle ended up stopping near I-10 and the West Sam Houston Parkway after running out of gas. The driver fled on foot leaving the vehicle.
Officers found a loaded Glock 22, .40 caliber pistol in the front of the passenger seat of the vehicle.
The driver was later taken into custody for felony evading arrest and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
After Working with Harris County District attorney’s Office, State Troppers started the asset forfeiture process to seize the Challenger.
On January 25, 2022, A Judge awarded the 1.080 horsepower Hellcat Redeye to the state of Texas.
The Dodge has now been customized to a white and black exterior indicating a police car with police lights and radio added.
