Texas Roadhouse Owner Kent Taylor Dies At 65

The founder of Texas Roadhouse Kent Taylor died Thursday after struggling a long battle of COVID-19.
Taylor died by suicide after fighting post related symptoms with COVID-19 including severe tinnitus. His body was found in a field on property he owned outside Louisville Thursday.
In a company issued statement the family said, “After a battle with post-Covid related symptoms, including severe tinnitus, Kent Taylor took his own life this week. Kent battled and fought hard like the former track champion that he was, but the suffering that greatly intensified in recent days became unbearable.”
The Louisville based company announced Friday that President Jerry Morgan will be named CEO following Taylor’s death.
The company released a statement Friday saying, “We will miss you, Kent. Because of you and your dream of Texas Roadhouse, we get to say we (love) our jobs every day.”
Taylor was born on September 25 in Missouri, where he was raised in Louisville, with his mother who worked for a boutique and his father that was employed by General Electric.
He was a gifted distance runner, and won a track scholarship to the University of North Carolina before striking out in the restaurant business.
